- Notable absentees from the list could be said to include Black And White Documentary About Liverpool, Silent Running, Local Hero, Jeremy, Dougal And The Blue Cat, Citizen Kane, Låt Den Rätte Komma In, Moonlight, Crash (the David Cronenberg one), The French Connection and The Shawshank Redemption - though perhaps these are classed amongst Mark's favourites, rather than best. Then again, there was a period when the one thing Simon and Mark agreed on was that Local Hero was the second-best film ever (Amadeus being Simon's favourite). So who knows.
