"Better than Sex And The City" - Mark Kermode, The Culture Show

British romcom from Joel Goldby. The film's marketers heard the above quotation and, figuring that not everyone in their prospective audience would know Mark's view on Sex And The City, hastened to put it on the front cover of the DVD release. The full quote was "better than Sex And The City, but then again slamming your finger in the car door is better than Sex And The City."

In truth though Mark did actually like The Waiting Room, thinking it "good" and with a "good" performance from Anne-Marie Duff, and so the quote wasn't quite as out of context as it could have been; indeed, the DVD distributors actually phoned Mark asking for permission to use it.
