Emotional collage
"It's like taking a person's life, putting it in an iPod, and hitting the shuffle function."
A phrase that originated with the film La Vie En Rose, in which moments in the life of Edith Piaf (played by Marion Cottiard, singing voice by Piaf, in several Ronan Keating Moments) occur in a more or less arbitrary sequence.
Next time a young person says "that's so random", they are to be told, "no, that's so emotional collage."
