Juan Antonio Bayona's ghost story, presented by Guillermo del Toro. Mark considered it one of the most rewardingly creepy, chilling ghost stories he has ever seen.

The film was the best thing Mark saw at the [[Pirates Of The Caribbean notorious 2007 Cannes film festival. On four separate occasions, the person sitting next to Mark grabbed his arm and dug their nails into his arm so hard it left marks.

The film is a story about grief, loss, sadness and longing. It reminded Mark of the poem The Stolen Child as used in AI: Artificial Intelligence.

The review was one of the most sensitive to spoilers that Mark has ever done. For example, Mark referred to the son making friends with children "who appear to be, or may be, or perhaps they aren't, imaginary". Although when he started talking about a moment he had misremembered where "the thing happened... and then the thing which really was scary happened," Simon began to lose patience with him. Mark responded by explaining about the backlash he once received for giving away what happens with the TV set in Ringu, and said he would "much rather have you sitting here cross but intrigued."
