Director of Local Hero, one film that both Simon and Mark agree is absolutely wonderful.

Robin Williams based his Scottish accent in Mrs Doubtfire on Forsyth, who he had recently worked with on Being Human.

Forsyth's appearance on The Culture Show with Mark where the two of them talked all the way through a screening of Local Hero prompted a welter of listener correspondence, and Mark unequivocally apologised.
