# Alan Jones

Friend and [fellow critic](Other_opinions_are_also_available) of [Mark Kermode](Mark_Kermode), and a member of the [pharisaic cadre](Pharisaic_cadre) that also includes the likes of [Kim Newman](Kim_Newman). Not the 1980 [Formula 1](Formula_1) World Champion.

Mark has described Jones as, of all his colleagues, "the most tolerant of completely unacceptable behaviour on screen”. But even Jones described [Crank 2](Crank_2) as “needlessly offensive”.

The quote on the [Straightheads](Straightheads) poster taken from Jones' review - "shocking, disturbing, extraordinary" - was likely [not entirely what he meant](Out_of_context).
