Simon questioned this use. Initially, Justine Green backed Simon ("Vanilla? You're making it up") and there was support from listener Nick in Lincoln who conducted a survey of 30 people in his office, none of whom had heard of the term. Mark, however, suggested the reason for this was that Nick's office must be that of Past Times or Old Stones, and Simon was forced to accept he was wrong after having to plead for listeners to stop texting in as the production team were drowning in the flood of messages from people who also used the word.
