Mark called for anyone planning on going to see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning to make a moral decision. "If you go and see this because it has the name The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you are not being a fan. You are, in fact, destroying the memory of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

The film did have one fleeting moment that Mark enjoyed, however: R Lee Ermy cuts off someone's limb off, and then the other one, and when asked why, he says, "balance."
