Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith
"A bad television soap opera except completely overrun by mad computer graphics" - Mark Kermode, BBC Radio 5live
Anakin Skywalker has a bad dream, kills a bunch of kids and puts a bucket on his head. Actors look at each other and circle around each other saying "we must move quickly", but not actually doing so.
The film has the distinction of being the first ever (new) movie reviewed in a Film Review Show podcast. During said review, Mark Kermode described it as "badly written, rottenly directed, acted by people whose woodenness is like chewing the edge of a table" and "a two-and-a-half hour borefest of which 17 minutes [those involving Emperor Palpatine] are quite good... but still, the best of the prequels. Well done George."
Simon Mayo was particularly taken with the way the Times headlined their review: "Back to the start, we are. Wasted our time, we did."
