Revenge Of The Sexually Pathological Voyeur

"Revenge Of The Nerds is one thing. Revenge Of The Sexually Pathological Voyeur is quite something else" - Stephen Fry, BBC Radio 5live

Observe And Report - a Seth Rogan comedy that, as Mark Kermode observed and reported, was virtually identical to Paul Blart: Mall Cop except it had more troubling scenes of a woman being drugged and then been intimately touched in a way that would be deeply problematic if it had to be described in court. The film also considers flashing to be funny, which Mark pointed out had ceased to happen during the Punk Rock Wars. The press notes claimed that the film's producers had decided to make something "dangerous, even if it offends some people."

The film's alternative title was coined by Stephen Fry during the Box Office Top 10 countdown.

There was also an unfortunate misunderstanding when Mark quoted further from the press notes, which claimed it was "the first comedy to be inspired by Taxi Driver." Mark furiously pointed out that "NO! THAT WAS KING OF COMEDY" only for Stephen to cut across with "Hello?! Carry On Cabbie!". Mark had to explain that he was talking about comedies inspired Taxi Driver the Scorsese film, not taxi drivers in general...

However, the film did prompt one half chuckle when the Queen song It's Late popped up on the soundtrack, and Mark realised that he had been wrong in his belief that the band had released no good music after Day At The Races, and that he would now have to go out and buy News Of The World.
