Podcast extra

Podcast extra is a phrase used on the show to describe extra reviews or material which is only available in the podcast, not in the broadcast show. The podcast extra is recorded after the show, in between the live programme and the time Simon has to leave to do All Request Friday and Mark to do The Film Review with Gavin Esler. For this reason the podcast extra is sometimes accompanied by the sound of Simon tidying up in a heavy-handed hint that he wishes to leave. This device is most often used when the broadcast show has a restricted running time due to Racing from Chilcot.
