Joe Cornish

London born comedian, screenwriter, director, radio presenter and film nut Joseph Murray Cornish became well known to the British public as part of comedy duo Adam and Joe (with Son of Rambow actor Adam Buxton).

He co-wrote the screenplays for Ant-Man and The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn as well as writing and directing his debut feature film, Attack the Block. His appearing on the show with Mark and Simon caused an awkward moment as Joe, promoting the film with eager enthusiasm (an unstoppable force) came up against Mark's opinion of the film (an immovable object) and, despite their respect for one another, awkwardly muted sparks flew.

Mark felt that the film, while surprisingly well-directed, was neither funny nor scary enough. Joe felt that Mark - who had already reviewed it on his blog immediately after the screening - had not really actually been commenting on his work, but rather had just used it as a reason to talk about how much he loves Shaun Of The Dead, which he frequently cites as the best example of British horror comedy - especially the line "I don't think I've got it in me to shoot my flatmate, my mum, and my girlfriend all in the same night."
