Hull Box Office Top 10

At the third Live Wittertainment - this time in Hull, as part of 5 Live's Oktoberfest in 2009 - the audience brought their own views to air on the films in the UK Box Office Top 10, as they had done in Leeds Box Office Top 10 and Edinburgh Box Office Top 10 earlier that year.

Those views included:

  1. Blue - not reviewed by Mark, or anyone else, as it was a Bollywood movie and had not been press screened

  2. Love Happens - reviewed by Mark - "A terrible, terrible film.

I'm very glad to see it slipping out of the charts... it raises the question of whether Jennifer Aniston is capable of making a good movie"

  1. Halloween 2 - reviewed by Mark - "Luckily, I was off with swine flu."

  2. Triangle - reviewed by Ian from Falkirk - "Groundhog Day with blood."

  3. Fame - reviewed by James at the back - "My 12-year-old daughter enjoyed it.

A lot. The only bit I did enjoy was when they all got up and started playing the drums and instruments." (Mark: "That was the moment I nearly gnawed my hand off.")

  1. Zombieland - reviewed by Neil from Leigh-on-Sea - "not as good as Shaun Of The Dead, but the cameo is a legend".

  2. The Invention Of Lying - reviewed by Greg from Tottenham - "I'm a big Ricky Gervais fan, but I just didn't think it was funny at all.

His act is wearing a bit thin."

  1. The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus - reviewed by John from Chesterfield - "The thing that impressed me was the editing - you couldn't really tell that Heath Ledger had died halfway through."

  2. Couples Retreat - reviewed by Joe from Nottingham - "It is so depressing seeing two clearly talented people - surrounded by a great cast - come out with something so, so bad.

After seeing this and The Break-up - the last film they were in together - I think directing for Jon Favreau, and dieting for Vince Vaughn."

  1. Up - reviewed by Josh from Bristol - "I've grown up with Disney/Pixar, and I think it's a fantastic, fantastic film."
