Faux Tactility

Another "Film Critic Speak" bit of terminology that Mark and The Good Lady Professor Her Indoors probably use on a daily basis that Simon (and most of the listenership) do not. In relation to Guy Maddin's film The Forbidden Room, Mark described the fake aged film look (scratchy old nitrate film, faded two-strip Technicolor etc) applied to the various "lost films" in Maddin's digitally shot feature as Faux Tactility. One might say there are various Hollywood actors that have had similar techniques applied to their faces. See Renée Zellweger
