Embargo

Embargoes are a frequent part of film reviewers' lives in the 21st Century - requirements from film companies that critics do not reveal what they think about movies until a certain date.

Mark writes extensively about embargoes in Hatchet Job, generally coming to the conclusion that actually, the best part of film criticism is sharing your views with other people who have also seen the movie, and to that extent he does not overly object to them - preferring to be "last, but right." That said, he did get a bit annoyed at having to sign one for Inglourious COUGHING when there was already a review freely available in Empire magazine; Simon Mayo suggested listeners come up with incentives for Mark to break it, eventually succeeding when Chris at Camp Bestival promised to finance a Comsat Angels world tour.
