Email Of The Week

Although there is not an actual Email Of The Week prize, nevertheless occasionally Simon Mayo will declare, "it's the email of the week!" after reading out a particularly inspired piece of listener correspondence. Examples have included:

• "Mark Kermode interrupted in full flow by Michael Howard. Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" (during the 2005 UK General Election
• "Any movie that leaves you disappointed when Hitler gets shot is surely not up to the mark" (listener named Gareth on Inglourious COUGHING)
• When the question is asked, "Is this seat taken?", the reply should be, "no, and neither is this film." (listener named Peter on Murder On The Snorient Express)
