Driving Miss Daisy

Despite other famous examples - such as Rocky beating Taxi Driver and Dances With Wolves beating Goodfellas - in Mark Kermode's view, the greatest travesty in Oscars history remains that of 1990. This was the year that Driving Miss Daisy won for Best Film, and every other movie released that year didn't.

As Mark points out in The Good, The Bad And The Multiplex, Driving Miss Daisy wasn't just definitively not the best film of the year; with Glory also out, it wasn't even the best Morgan Freeman film released that week.
