Danny Dyer

Danny Dyer is a British actor. He has appeared in a number of films and television programmes (75 at last count, according to IMDB), ranging from comedies such as Run For Your Wife (rated 2.6 out of 10 according to IMDB users), to hard-hitting thrillers such as Pimp (2.9 out of

10).

While his talents are clearly varied, his most common role is one of a 'hard man'. Most recently, he has been inhabiting such a role in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. He has also repeatedly auditioned for roles in Game Of Thrones, but has been turned down each time.

Mark Kermode has previously been dismissive of the films of Danny Dyer, and of Mr Dyer's acting in general. He has developed an impersonation of Mr Dyer which accentuates the cockney elements of his voice. Although when the impression was first performed (in the Straightheads review), actual words were discernible, it has developed over time into what can only be described as a high-pitched screech.

Danny Dyer is aware of his treatment from Mr Kermode and has threatened him with violence – "I'll probably just put the nut on him." In turn made Kermode taunt him even further, saying that he lacks "a sense of humour and a career".

Dyer also told the Independent that Kermode "thinks I'm the most ridiculous human being on this planet and that I shouldn't be an actor. I think he forgets that Pinter asked me to be in three of his plays. I wish Pinter was around today – I'd get Pinter to give him a call."

On 11 January 2015 in an in-depth interview in The Sunday Times Danny Dyer said "Like that Mark Kermode.

The things he’s said about my acting could have stopped me getting work; stopped me feeding my family. He’s saying I can’t act, but Harold Pinter said I could!" As the good doctor has stated on numerous occasions, the opinions of film critics have little to no effect on box office numbers; he proved his point in the podcast following the article by saying that his trashing of box office success Taken 3 hardly made its star Liam Neeson hungry.

Dyer is also notably the only person to have been dismissed from Zoo Magazine for being too sexist.

At the end of January 2015 Mr Dyer had also received the Serial Drama Performance prize at the National Television Awards, for his role in EastEnders. His acceptance speech was less than Pinteresque.

According to Danny Dyer's manager he actually doesn't dislike Mark and his impression as much as he used to. This fact was established by an anonymous Wittertainee during a DDRE (Danny Dyer Related Embarrassment / Entertainment).
