British band much admired by Simon Mayo and despised by Mark Kermode. They came into Wittertainment conversation when a listener wrote in to praise the use of Life In Technicolor 1 for the slow talking bit at the end of Night At The Museum 2.

It was a measure of how much Mark liked the documentary Young At Heart that he cried when the old people sang Coldplay's Fix You, despite how much he cannot abide the band.

Coldplay's singer Chris Martin - "that whingy bloke with the funny notations drawn on the back of his hand" - was married for a long time to Gwyneth Paltrow until they "consciously uncoupled."
