Actor whose career had a promising start, with Swingers, but has since continued on a downward trajectory in quality. When The Break-Up was on release, [Mark](Mark_Kermode) was of the opinion that "he is always funny" and that although Vaughn always played the same character in every film, it was ok, because that character would always make him laugh: Vaughn's presence on the poster meant "there is at least some guarantee of quality."
Two [Christmas movies](Top_10_Christmas_movies) later - [Fred Claus](Fred_Claus) and [Four Christmases](Four_Christmases) (the later of which led to Simon giving the latter the [tagline](Tagline) "this Christmas, just say no to Vince Vaughn") - and that view had been significantly revised.
