A reference to [Mark Kermode](Mark_Kermode)'s communist leanings in his youth (and possibly beyond). Trot being a contraction of [Trotskyist](https://web.archive.org/web/20220817201632/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trotskyism). As it turns out communism didn't prove to be a great success, but don't tell Mark.

At the [ drop of a hat](Kermodian_rant), Mark is perfectly capable of bursting into [The Internationale](https://web.archive.org/web/20220817201632/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcXNXKtu8z4).

Like when he reviewed [Sex and the City 2](Sex_and_the_City_2).

During the [Sport Relief Top 10](Sport_Relief_Top_10) held at Eton, Simon asked Mark what his younger, Communist self would have made of him being in the cradle of so much of the British aristocracy.

Mark replied that he would have assumed it was [entryist](Entryist_filmmaking) insurgency mission to destroy capitalism from within. Either that, or he'd just sold out.

The image to the right is of course that of the former Cuban revolutionary leader, [Che Stadium](Che_Stadium).
