# The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Date

In Dr K's younger and more vulnerable years he took a date to see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre at the [Phoenix Cinema, East Finchley](Phoenix_Cinema,_East_Finchley), she did not like the film and wanted to leave, asking the bequiffed one to join her. "Aren't you coming?" she said and he replied "No, I want to see the rest of the movie". And that, as they say, was the end of that.

John Carpenter once said of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre that when he saw it he was absolutely terrorised, and then he went home and slept like a baby because it had pacified his soul.

It should be noted that The Texas Chainsaw Massacre claims to be based on a true story - and indeed it is, except that the real events were not a massacre, did not involve a chainsaw and didn't happen in Texas.
