# Hits On 45

Compilation record (actually called [Stars On 45](https://web.archive.org/web/20220808192729/https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stars%5Fon%5F45)) that took clips of lots of hit singles and overlaid them all over a disco beat.

Kind of like an early [Jive Bunny](https://web.archive.org/web/20220808192729/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoi5sVsJqCY) but [Dutch](Focus).

The metaphor of a work being made up of lots of great bits has been used by [Mark Kermode](Mark_Kermode) to describe various [loved](Kermodian_Rhapsody) films - up to and including [There / Will / Be / Blood](There_/_Will_/_Be_/_Blood) \- although the actual Stars On 45 records are more or less universally derided.

Inland Empire is like a Hits On 45 of David Lynch films; [Die Hard Four Point Less](Die_Hard_Four_Point_Less) was like a Hits On 45 of action movie cliches.
