# French horn

Not, as it sounds, a randy Parisian but rather a musical instrument. Dr K achieved Grade 3 French horn, which involved identifying one in a room that also contained a piano and drum kit. However he failed Grade 4 by two points after starting the exam on the wrong note and then continuing on playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order.

The French horn was also immortalised in the Flanders and Swann song Ill Wind, the first verse of which is:

I once had a whim and I had to obey it, To buy a French horn in a second-hand shop. I polished it up and I started to play it, In spite of the neighbours who begged me to stop.
