The first incarnation of the radio station that would go on to be [5 Live](5_Live). When first launched in 1990 as an eclectic features-and-childrens-and-bits-of-sport station, [Mark Kermode](Mark_Kermode) (though not [Simon Mayo](Simon_Mayo), who was busy being huge at [Radio 1](Radio_1)) was a presenter on the roster.
This explains his continued bafflement and references to the "new name" of [5 Live](5_Live), despite the moniker "Radio 5" having not been in existence since 1994.
It was in this incarnation of the station that Mark appeared on the [Danny Baker](Danny_Baker) Show and made his ill-fated [Oscar](Oscar) bet.
