# Transformers: Age Of Extinction

"This is [Michael Bay](Michael_Bay) as Nigel Tufnel. Two-word review: shark sandwich" - _Mark Kermode, BBC Radio 5live_

The Transformers franchise goes epic - or at least, according to Michael Bay's definition of the word - in which Optimus Prime and the last remaining Autobots wage an insurgent war on the US government on the grounds that its health and safety legislation is overly bureaucratic.

The film is an exercise in turning everything up to 11, with fight sequences "like putting your head in a tumble dryer and letting cutlery bang around inside it". But hey - not as repugnant as [Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen](Transformers:_Revenge_Of_The_Fallen) and not as full of soul-sucking horror as [Pain & Gain](Pain_&_Gain). So there's that.
