According to [Mark Kermode](Mark_Kermode), a "nippy, 85 minutes long" and "very good" animated film from 1986, which was Orson Welles' last movie. After the release of [Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen](Transformers:_Revenge_Of_The_Fallen), Mark was asked by a number of listeners if he had seen the original film, and he replied “of course, it’s infinitely better.” [Andrew Collins](Andrew_Collins) was equally retrospectively positive about it, describing it as "cheap-looking and loveable."
It is nothing to do with the later [Michael Bay](Michael_Bay) abominations - indeed, it was simply about robots hitting each other, and not about Michael Bay spending millions of dollars to go "[Phwoarr, eh?](Phwoarr,_eh?)"
